Event Overview
“Mujeres que Inspiran en STEM” was a high-impact mentoring and networking session designed to promote inclusion, leadership, and professional growth for women in STEM within Costa Rica. Delivered as part of the national IngenIEEEría Costa Rica 2025 program, the session created a focused and welcoming environment for meaningful mentor–mentee engagement.
The initiative brought together accomplished women professionals from diverse technical and leadership backgrounds to share experiences, challenges, and career insights with university students and early-career professionals. The session emphasized empowerment, confidence-building, and practical guidance, reinforcing IEEE’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in engineering and technology.
Program Format and Highlights
The mentoring activity followed an interactive roundtable rotation model, designed to maximize engagement and exposure:
- Each mentor hosted a discussion table
- Mentees rotated every 15 minutes
- Small-group conversations enabled open dialogue and personalized guidance
Mentors shared real-world experiences related to leadership, career advancement, innovation, and navigating professional challenges in STEM fields. The format encouraged authentic conversations and peer learning while ensuring that each mentee interacted with multiple mentors during the session.
