FLAME (Fostering Leadership and Mentoring Excellence) was a flagship mentoring initiative designed to deliver high-impact, structured mentorship for students, researchers, and early-career professionals. Conducted as a hybrid one-day program, FLAME focused on enabling personalized mentor–mentee engagement, leadership development, and career clarity through a well-designed slot-based mentoring model.
The event opened with an inspirational keynote emphasizing the role of mentorship in shaping academic and professional success, followed by ten carefully managed mentoring slots that ensured focused, outcome-driven interactions. The hybrid format allowed broad participation while preserving the depth and quality of one-to-one and small-group mentoring experiences.
FLAME stood out for its innovative mentor-mentee matching process, ensuring equitable access, preference-based pairing, and efficient session flow. The initiative strengthened collaboration between academia and industry while reinforcing IEEE’s mission of advancing technology for humanity through leadership and mentorship.
