The 2024 IEEE Education Leadership Summit – Mentoring Meet, organized by the IEEE Vardhaman College of Engineering Student Branch, IEEE Hyderabad Section, and IEEE Education Society Young Professionals Adhoc Committee, aimed to foster professional and personal growth for mentors and mentees within the IEEE India Council & IEEE Hyderabad Section. This program connected experienced members with less experienced ones, providing guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing in areas such as career development, research, teaching, and leadership.
Program Overview:
- Innovative Mentoring Approach: Each mentor was assigned to two mentees, ensuring a personalized yet impactful mentoring experience. This structure promoted collaboration among mentees while maintaining the mentor’s ability to provide tailored guidance and support.
- Milestones and Progress: Key milestones tracked participant engagement and progress, including mentor-mentee matching, initial meetings and goal setting, skill development and career growth, regular check-ins, and a valedictory celebration.
Program Benefits:
- Professional Development: Mentees received personalized guidance and access to specialized resources to enhance their growth.
- Career Progression: Many mentees achieved milestones such as new positions or promotions, thanks to tailored support from mentors.
- Networking Opportunities: Both mentors and mentees expanded their professional connections within the IEEE YP.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Mentors: Acted as role models, guided mentees in achieving goals, shared expertise, and provided constructive feedback. Each mentor worked with two mentees, fostering collaboration while ensuring individual attention.
- Mentees: Took ownership of their development by seeking guidance, setting clear objectives, and respecting mentors’ time and insights.
Program Conclusion at the Leadership Summit 2024: The program concluded at the IEEE Education Leadership Summit 2024, where participants celebrated their accomplishments and reflected on their journey. This event highlighted the program’s success in fostering meaningful mentoring relationships that contributed to individual and community growth.
