IEEE Young Professionals Lebanon took the initiative of organizing the first Mentor-Mentee meetup in the country. The event kicked off with an MoU signing between IEEE Lebanon Section and the Lebanese Association for Digital Transformation. In addition, a panel discussion shed light on the importance of mentoring and IEEE’s impact in mentoring communities. Moreover, our attendees had the chance to get one-on-one coaching from professionals in mentoring breakout rooms.
Section 2 – Assessment against KPIs
Usage of resources provided in the Mentoring Portal and providing feedback We used the Mentoring Meet logo, the Mentee declaration form and the Mentor and Mentee feedback forms. Resources were useful, however, we suggest that the mentee declaration form be available online and accessible on a platform by the organizers to make it easier for the mentees to fill and for us to keep track of it.
The number of Mentors and Mentees attended
10 mentors were able to attend during event day. Some of them were only available for on session while others stayed for both. You can see the details in the table below. The event was attended by 116 mentees who were then divided among the mentors.
Diversity of mentors (ex: at least one mentor from Academia, Industry and Entrepreneurship)
The below table summarizes all the mentors who took part in our mentoring sessions. The list includes 1 mentor from entrepreneurship (ACIE – asher center for innovation and entrepreneurship), 3 mentors from academia (universities LAU, NDU, USJ) and 6 mentors from Industry. This proves the diversity of our mentors and options provided to all the attendees who were able to find someone who can guide their careers.
